Rumors have been swirling that due to an ongoing lawsuit between Timelines.com and Facebook that the Timeline has been delayed. While it is all speculation as to what the cause is, the fact is that the roll out has been delayed significantly. When I signed up and got my Timeline in beta, it said on the developer page that this feature would be rolled out on September 29th 2011, and here we are almost a month later without the full roll out yet.

Above is a screenshot of what the timeline feature will look like. I have done a bit of filling in on mine to pictures from my childhood, but I haven’t had time to do nearly as much work on it as I wanted. One thing worth noting on the Timeline that I haven’t heard much talk about yet, is the size and location of the Facebook ad unit on the new one. It will be interesting to pay close attention to that and see how click thru rates are affected once the Timline does have a full scale launch and is available to the whole Facebook population.
For those of you who may not be familiar with the Timeline yet, here is a video of it in action. Simply put, it is incredible.
